WHERE ARE YOU PLANTED?

WHERE ARE YOU PLANTED?

He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. —Psalm 1:3

When planting a tree, it’s productivity will largely be determined by the kind of soil it is planted in. While I pastored in Vermont, our family had a very fruitful vegetable garden. But there was one patch of ground that would not grow anything no matter what I planted there, or how much I watered and fertilized. The soil was just bad soil.

The same is true in being a fruitful and productive Christian. If you are not planted in a spiritual environment, there will be little, if any, spiritual fruit produced in your life. The best environment for bearing spiritual fruit is in a good church. Psalm 92:12-13 says, “The righteous shall flourish like a palm tree… Those that be PLANTED in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of the Lord.”

To be “planted” means to get your roots down where they can feed and nourish your soul from God’s Word. Find a good church and PLANT YOURSELF in it.
