God’s Love Conduit

God’s Love Conduit

Romans 5:5—“…the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.”

Dr. Jack Hyles was the pastor of Miller Road Baptist Church in Garland, TX for seven years in the mid 1950’s. The church grew from 44 members to over 4,000 members during that time. When Brother Hyles resigned to become the pastor of First Baptist Church of Hammond, Indiana, one of the city councilmen in Garland announced at a city council meeting: “Gentleman, Rev. Hyles is leaving our city to move to Hammond, Indiana. As far as I’m concerned, this is one of our city’s greatest losses. Rev. Hyles has been ‘God’s Conduit’ in our community for the past seven years.”

ILLUS: Abraham was the conduit of God’s blessing to the world. God told Abraham, “I will bless thee… and thou shalt be a blessing… in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.” (Gen. 12:2-3). God blessed Abraham… and through Abraham came the blessing of Jesus Christ… who brought the blessing of salvation to all the world.

A conduit is a channel or tube through which water or electricity can be conveyed from one point to another—You and I are God’s conduit! Oh, that Bible Baptist Church might be known as “God’s Love Conduit” to Port Orchard.

In salvation God’s love has been shed abroad into your heart by the Holy Ghost so you can be a conduit of God’s love to others.
