Barton Baptist Church (1978-2018)

In 1978 God lead our family from Washington State to Vermont to start the Barton Baptist Church.  It was 40 years ago this Sunday (9/30/18) that we held the first service at the Lake Region High School. What a blessing to speak in this church 40 years later.

Several families that were saved and baptized in the early days of this church still attend and faithfully serve God (Bruce & Janice Conley, Theresa Perrin (Riendeau), Laurent Inkel, Manon Inkel [Lawson] and several others).  I was so encouraged.  As John wrote, “I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth” (3 John 4).

Janice & Bruce Conley among the first baptized in 1978. Charter members of Barton Baptist. Bruce played a BIG part in the construction of the church building. Still going strong for Jesus!
Al & Barb with Theresa Perrin (Riendeau). Theresa was a charter member of Barton Baptist.
Tom Girard worked a lot on the construction of the church building.  He did much of the roofing. Hard worker and still faithfully following Jesus.
Laurent Inkel family: Back row: Nancy, Norman’s sons, Norman, Manon and her husband Doug. Front row: Laurent and Betsy. Laurent did most of the logging to supply wood to build the building with. Betsy is currently the church treasurer.

Their new pastor is Ralph Fryman.

Barton Baptist has baptized 9 new converts since January. There are some churches that will not baptize that many all year!   I know the Barton Baptist church will continue to grow and thrive under Pastor Fryman’s leadership. Praise the Lord!
