Goodbye to the office of Pastor

Goodbye to the office of Pastor

Well, yesterday (8/19/18) was the first Sunday in the last 44 years that I was not a pastor in some local church.  While I thank God for every minute He allowed me to pastor, I must admit, I feel somewhat relieved from “that which cometh upon me daily—the care of all the churches.”  To be sure, I will miss all our friends at Bible Baptist in Port Orchard.  But, I am very excited about serving the Lord in a new capacity other than being a pastor.

On August 29, Barb and I actually will begin our travels across our great country in pursuit of where God would have us serve Him next. We will enjoy seeing some places we’ve never been before, visiting various local churches, and meeting new Christians along the way.  We are planning to be “on-the-road” for about six months.  Hopefully, by then we will have a good idea of where God wants to use us in the future.

Please pray for us and stay in touch.  We love reading your comments and remembering your prayer requests. [NOTE: I will be posting new lessons from Isaiah soon. Keep checking back!]

God bless you.

  1. Preacher, you are such a blessing! The Lord has taught me so much under your ministry. I only wish I could have had more time to sit under your preaching and teaching, but God always knows best! No matter the journey, KEEP SMILING!

    1. Norma, You have a teachable spirit and are open to the truth (Acts 17:11). God will bless the Christian who hungers and thirsts for more of Him. Keep reading and studying your Bible. Love you and Mike! I’m excited for how the Lord is going to use both of you in the future!

    1. Charity. I am so proud you are my daughter. I thank God for you and your family. Your life is a great example of determination and leadership. I’ll miss you as we travel, but you will always be in my thoughts and prayers. I love you! Dad

  2. Preacher and Barb…. you are so felt and missed so much already. I feel so priveledged to have been a very small part in your ministry at BBC. You truly have no idea the impact you have had in my life through your teachings. When you signed my Bible Saturday on that “blank page”…. it moves me to tears even now. Thank you thank you….. and God Bless you always in your journeys… you are so loved.

    1. Hi Julie, I’m so glad the Lord has caused our paths to cross. I pray God will continue to bless your life as you live for Him. Thanks for commenting. Stay in touch.
