Ordination of Hank Matthews

Ordination of Hank Matthews

I’ve known Hank Matthews for over 25 years.  He came to our church in Port Orchard while he was stationed on the USS Nimitz.  Hank had an obvious passion for souls and regularly brought several of his shipmates with him to church who eventually got saved.

Al Hughes, Pastor Harvey Keck, Hank Matthews.

It is encouraging to see Hank and his wife Bonnie still serving the Lord after all these years.  I’m not surprised God is using Hank and his family to establish a local church in Marinette, WI.  He has demonstrated the quality God requires most in His servants—FAITHFULNESS (1 Cor. 4:2; Mt. 25:21; 1 Tim. 1:12).

Today, it was my honor to preach at his ordination. It was held at First Bible Baptist Church in Green Bay, WI where Pastor Harvey Keck is the pastor.  What a blessing to meet Brother Keck who has been pastoring for about 44 years.

I also had the privilege to get acquainted with several other pastors from the great state of Wisconsin who attended the ordination service.  Other members and former members from Bible Baptist Church in Port Orchard, WA were present: Roy & Barb Turk; Stephanie Coale Hammond, (and her husband Tim); Scott and Charity Gregson; Kenny Gregson, and David Togeson.

What a blessed service.
