The “Fixer”

The “Fixer”

Death is a “Fixer”

He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still. –Revelation 22:11

When developing photographic film, the exposed film is placed in various chemical solutions that make the film develop.  The final solution is called the “fixer.” This solution fixes image at its current exposure.  The fixer solution STOPS the developing process at whatever point the photo is placed in the fixer solution.

Death is like this photographic fixer solution.  When death occurs, the state of the person who dies is fixed.  Nothing can be done to undo the state of that person’s condition after death occurs.  Hence, Revelation 22:11 says, “He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.” At death the moral condition of a person is set for all eternity.

Think about it! At death the insatiable lust of a raptist is fixed for eternity without any opportunity to fulfill it’s wicked desire.  He will be a raptist forever. The hateful person will be filled with hate for all eternity. The murderer will filled with the desire to kill, but not be able to inflict his murderous propensity. The blasphemer will spue his venom without any enjoyment. The filthy will be forever dirty, rotten, and corrupt without any possibility to be clean. The nasty will be nasty forever. The horrible will be saturated in unending horror. Awful! Not the kind of company I want to spend eternity with!

On the other hand, for the saved, he will be righteous and holy forever.

Take your pick. Who do you want to spend eternity with?  Do you want to spend eternity in unleased and unrestrained chaos and destruction, OR, in the beauty of righteousness and holiness?
