One Month on the Road- Eleven States

One Month on the Road- Eleven States

One month ago today, we left our home town Port Orchard, and started our 50th Anniversary Adventure. Today we entered our eleventh State.

Our wandering has brought many adventures, surprises and renewed friendships. (Look up the individual blogs for photos.) Here’s a summary:

Washington – Retired Pastorate at Bible Baptist 8-18. Honored at the annual Bible Conference at Open Door Baptist 8-25

Idaho – passed through

Montana – passed through

Wyoming – parked four nights at Devils Tower.

South DakotaCorn Palace at Mitchell. Visited Nilson’s farm for repairs.

Minnesota – passed through

Wisconsin – Visited Hammond’s in Oshkosh, Matthews in Marinette, including Hank’s ordination and a grandchild’s wedding! Saw our grandson, Kenny, daughter, Charity, her husband, Scott, as well as Turks from our home church in Port Orchard.

Michigan

• Upper Peninsula: 3 night stay. Saw falls, three of the five Great Lakes. Visited Macinaw Island, crossed the Macinaw Bridge.

• Lower Peninsula: 11 nights. Saw MANY family and friends, renewed acquaintances and rested much. (We heard tonight that tornados touched down in my mom’s hometown, which we passed through this morning! We got out just in time!)

Ohio – passed through the Northern border to Buffalo NY.

Pennsylvania – Passed through Erie only.

New York – camped one night enroute to Vermont.

It’s been quite the adventure. Finding a place to rest has been a challenge in this area. This will suffice. God is good!

  1. It always nice to spend a few days in one place for a rest. Our dog was always happier in the trailer than riding in the van as we would hit the road again. How is Charming doing?

    1. He loves to be with us and is happy either in the truck or trailer. He dislikes the vehicle slowing down, so I guess he prefers the interstate than back roads with frequent stops. He’s doing incredibly well. His allergies seem to be of WA origin.
